{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-234.310","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 234.310","heading":"Definitions for KRS 234.310 to 234.440.","body":"As used in KRS 234.310 to 234.440, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Department of Revenue;\n(2) \"Person\" includes every natural person, fiduciary, association, state, or political\nsubdivision, or corporation. Whenever used i n any clause prescribing and imposing\nimprisonment the term \"person\" as applied to an association means and includes the\npartners or members thereof, and as applied to corporations, the officers thereof;\n(3) \"Liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel\" means and includes all combustible gases and\nliquids as described in KRS 234.100 used for the generation of power in an internal\ncombustion engine to propel vehicles of any kind upon the public highways;\n(4) \"Motor vehicle\" means any vehicle, machine or mechanical co ntrivance propelled\nby an internal combustion engine and licensed for operation and operated upon the\npublic highways and any trailer or semitrailer attached to or having its front end\nsupported by such motor vehicle;\n(5) \"Public highways\" means every way or place generally open to the use of the public\nas a matter of right for the purpose of vehicular travel, notwithstanding that they\nmay be temporarily closed or travel thereon restricted for the purpose of\nconstruction, maintenance, repair or reconstruction;\n(6) \"Liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel dealer\" means any person who imports or\ncauses to be imported into this state for resale or use, or any person making sales in\nthis state, of liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel for resale or use in this state by a\nlicensed liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel user-seller;\n(7) \"Liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel user -seller\" means any person, not licensed as\na liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel dealer, who dispenses liquefied petroleum gas\nmotor fuel into the fuel tanks of, or attached to, motor vehicles for the propulsion of\nsuch motor vehicles on the public highways, and shall include any such person who\nso dispenses liquefied petroleum gas motor fuel for consumption in such motor\nvehicles owned, leased, or operated by him.","path":["KRS Chapter 234"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11025","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:49Z","sha256":"6132ea27c35feba2641198dc8cbfb3ba6c031aa14e44842f5c116080701f6a0c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-234.302","next":"us-ky/krs-234.320"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
