{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-235.110","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 235.110","heading":"Display of number on boat -- Specifications -- Certificate of number to be","body":"kept available.\n(1) The owners shall cause to be painted on or attached to each side of the bow of the\nmotorboat the identification number in such manner as may be prescribed b y rules\nand regulations of the department in order that it may be clearly visible. The number\nshall be maintained in a legible condition. The certificate of number shall be pocket\nsize and shall be available at all times for inspection on the motorboat for  which\nissued, whenever such motorboat is in operation, except as provided in KRS\n235.230.\n(2) All numbers placed upon the bow of a motorboat subject to this numbering system\nshall be:\n(a) Painted on, or attached to, each side of the bow (i.e. the forwar d half) of the\nvessel;\n(b) Read from left to right;\n(c) And in such position as to provide maximum visibility;\n(d) In block letters of good proportion not less than three (3) inches in height;\n(e) Have spaces that are equal to the width of a letter oth er than \"I\" or a number\nother than \"1\" between the letter and the number groupings (Example: KY\n1234 A);\n(f) Of a color which will contrast with the color of the background (i.e. dark\nnumbers on a light background) and so maintained as to be clearly visib le and\nlegible.\n(3) No number other than the number awarded to a motorboat or granted reciprocity\npursuant to this chapter shall be painted, attached, or otherwise displayed on either\nside of the bow of such motorboat.","path":["KRS Chapter 235"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11055","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:49Z","sha256":"91ff809e3b1bd75e751b990b89f3e1591873e27f238576eb869320be44f6a759","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-235.100","next":"us-ky/krs-235.120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
