{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-235.290","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 235.290","heading":"Regulation of boat races and similar activities.","body":"(1) The department may authorize the holding of regattas, motorboat or other boat\nraces, marine parades, tournaments, or exhibitions involving more than one hundred\n(100) boats on any waters of this state. It shall adopt and may, from time to time,\namend regul ations concerning the safety of motorboats and other vessels and\npersons thereon, either observers or participants. When a regatta, motorboat or other\nboat race, marine parade, tournament, or exhibition involving more than one\nhundred (100) boats is propos ed to be held, the person in charge thereof shall, at\nleast fifteen (15) days prior thereto, file an application with the department for\npermission to hold the regatta, motorboat or other boat race, marine parade,\ntournament, or exhibition. The application shall set forth the date, time, and location\nwhere it is proposed to hold the regatta, motorboat or other boat race, marine\nparade, tournament, or exhibition, and it shall not be conducted without\nauthorization of the department in writing.\n(2) The provisions of this section shall not exempt any person from compliance with\napplicable federal law or regulation, but nothing contained herein shall be construed\nto require the securing of a state permit pursuant to this section if a permit therefor\nhas been obtained from an authorized agency of the United States.","path":["KRS Chapter 235"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11078","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:49Z","sha256":"d99e5afccb019a1e3810a704a68cad294206aca016145bfdc65662a2807d547e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-235.287","next":"us-ky/krs-235.300"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
