{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-236.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 236.040","heading":"Conformity required of boilers, pressure vessels, and connecting piping --","body":"Inspections.\n(1) No boiler or pressure vessel which fails to conform to the rules and regulations\nformulated by the commissioner governing new construction and installation s hall\nbe installed and operated in this state.\n(2) Subject to exemptions established in this chapter, all new connecting piping\nsubjected to pressure emanating from a power boiler, heating boiler, hot water\nsupply boiler, or pressure vessel shall be conside red part of the boiler or pressure\nvessel installation, subject to the same boiler or pressure vessel code requirements,\nand shall be designed in accordance with the rules of ASME piping codes B31.1,\nB31.3, B31.5, B31.9, or B31.12 or their subsequent revisions, and ASME boiler and\npressure vessel code Sections I, III, IV, VIII (Division 1, 2, or 3), or X or subsequent\nrevisions of each. Inspection of such piping shall be performed by an inspector\nqualified under KRS 236.070, 236.080, or 236.097.\n(3) Pressure vessels for human occupancy shall comply with subsection (2) of this\nsection and ASME requirements for pressure vessels for human occupancy.\nInspection of such piping shall be performed by a boiler inspector qualified under\nKRS 236.070, 236.080, and 236.097.","path":["KRS Chapter 236"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40107","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:49Z","sha256":"7556157d4f4dd0ae9f2103d9b97a73f83443e5ea75978c00d1b4eaff75bccdb2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-236.030","next":"us-ky/krs-236.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
