{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-236.080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 236.080","heading":"Special boiler inspectors -- State salary prohibited -- Duties -- Report.","body":"(1) In addition to the boiler inspectors authorized by KRS 236.070, the department\nshall, upon the request of any company authorized to insure against loss from\nexplosion of boilers and pressure vessels in this state, issue to any boiler inspectors\nof said company commissions as special boiler inspectors, provided that each such\nspecial boiler inspector before receiving such commission, shall satisfactorily pass\nthe examination provided for in KRS 236.090, or, in lieu of such examination, shall\nhold a comm ission or certificate of competency as an inspector of boilers and\npressure vessels for a state that has a standard of examination substantially equal to\nthat of this Commonwealth or a commission as an inspector of boilers and pressure\nvessels issued by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors.\n(2) Such special boiler inspectors shall receive no salary from, nor shall any of their\nexpenses be paid by, the state and the continuance of a special inspector's\ncommission shall be conditioned u pon his or her continuing in the employ of an\ninsurance company duly authorized as aforesaid and upon his or her maintenance of\nthe standards imposed by this chapter.\n(3) Such special boiler inspectors shall inspect all boilers and pressure vessels insured\nby their respective companies, and, when so inspected and reported as required, the\nowners and users of such insured boilers and pressure vessels shall be exempt from\nthe payment to the state of the inspection fees as provided for in KRS 236.120 and\n236.130.\n(4) Each company employing such special boiler inspectors shall within thirty (30) days\nfollowing each certificate inspection made by such inspectors, file a report of such\ninspection with the division upon appropriate forms prescribed by the division.\nOther than the certificate inspection report, no reporting of other inspections shall\nbe required except when such inspections disclose that the boiler or pressure vessel\nis in a dangerous condition.","path":["KRS Chapter 236"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40111","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:50Z","sha256":"93b0fef48c83c717c83421610cfcbfb0d02c26bf01ffd2c8eefa48860785234e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-236.070","next":"us-ky/krs-236.090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
