{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-237.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 237.130","heading":"Failure to report nonreceipt of firearms training when receiving","body":"certification without notice to specified law enforcement or prosecutorial\npersonnel.\n(1) A person is guilty of failure to report nonreceipt of firearms training when he or she\nreceives certification that he or she has successfully completed a firearms instructor\ntrainer, certified firearms instructor, or applicant training course and has not, in fact,\nreceived any such training and has not reported the matter in writing to the sheri ff,\nCommonwealth's attorney, or county attorney serving the county in which the\ntraining was conducted or has not made a written report to the Department of\nKentucky State Police and provided a copy of the certification documents to the\nagency reported to along with the report. The report shall be made not more than\nthirty (30) working days after receiving documentation of successful completion of\ntraining, unless a request for additional time has been made and has been granted by\nan officer or agency to which the report shall be made.\n(2) Failure to report nonreceipt of firearms training is a Class A misdemeanor.\n(3) A person who makes a report pursuant to this section within the time frame\nspecified in subsection (1) of this section shall not be prosecuted  for a violation of\nthis section and shall be eligible to reenroll in the level of class for which they were\noriginally enrolled.","path":["KRS Chapter 237"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11139","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:50Z","sha256":"4e2d03dbc2eca2c0d30b511fa661fc108457f4d537f5fde2bd83ae0cb09fad19","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-237.128","next":"us-ky/krs-237.132"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
