{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-237.134","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 237.134","heading":"Investigation and prosecution of reports made pursuant to KRS 237.130 or","body":"237.132 -- Annual report to Legislative Research Commission.\n(1) When a report is made to the Department of Kentucky State Police pursuant to KRS\n237.130 or 237.132, the Dep artment of Kentucky State Police shall notify the\nCommonwealth's attorney and the county attorney for the county in which the\ntraining was conducted of the report and shall cooperate with them in the\ninvestigation and prosecution of the case.\n(2) When a re port is made to a Commonwealth's or county attorney pursuant to KRS\n237.130 or 237.132, the Commonwealth's or county attorney shall notify the\nDepartment of Kentucky State Police of the report and shall cooperate with them in\nthe investigation and prosecution of the case.\n(3) When a report is made to the Department of Criminal Justice Training alleging a\nviolation of KRS 237.130 or 237.132, the department shall notify the\nCommonwealth's attorney and county attorney of the county in which the training\ntook p lace and shall make a notification of the report to the Department of\nKentucky State Police.\n(4) The Department of Kentucky State Police shall make an annual report to the\nLegislative Research Commission, not later than December 31 of each year,\ndetailing each notice received pursuant to this section detailing:\n(a) The name of the firearms instructor trainer or certified firearms instructor if\nthat instructor trainer or instructor has been arrested or indicted as a result of\nthe notification, otherwise the name shall be omitted;\n(b) The precise allegation;\n(c) Whether the allegation resulted in arrest or indictment;\n(d) Whether the allegation resulted in a trial, and the results of that trial; and\n(e) If the defendant was found guilty, the punishment imposed.\n(5) In or appended to the report specified in subsection (4) of this section the\nDepartment of Kentucky State Police shall report the number of arrests,\nindictments, trials, convictions, cases which were dismissed, and cases in which the\ndefendant was fo und not guilty for failure to report nonreceipt of training and\nfailure to report insufficient training.","path":["KRS Chapter 237"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11141","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:50Z","sha256":"cfd93c25decd785116c5f9c9cf81075a9e9c21cab89a0dba6e55e7e7f165187d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-237.132","next":"us-ky/krs-237.136"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
