{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-241.020","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 241.020","heading":"Department to administer alcoholic beverage laws, except as to collection","body":"of taxes -- Advisory opinions, rulings, and administrative regulations --\nDepartment to administer statutes relating to cannabis -infused beverages --\nDivisions of Distilled  Spirits, Malt Beverages, and Tobacco, Nicotine, and\nVapor Product Licensing.\n(1) The department shall administer statutes relating to, and regulate traffic in,\nalcoholic beverages, except that the collection of taxes shall be administered by the\nDepartment of Revenue. The department may issue advisory opinions and\ndeclaratory rulings related to KRS Chapters 241 to 244 and the administrative\nregulations promulgated under those chapters.\n(2) Notwithstanding any other statute or administrative regulation to the contrary, the\ndepartment shall have authority to administer statutes relating to, and regulate the\nretail licensing and distribution of, cannabis-infused beverages.\n(3) A Division of Distilled Spirits, under the supervision of the board, shall admin ister\nthe laws in relation to traffic in distilled spirits, wine, and cannabis -infused\nbeverages.\n(4) A Division of Malt Beverages, under the supervision of the board, shall administer\nthe laws in relation to traffic in malt beverages.\n(5) A Division of To bacco, Nicotine, and Vapor Product Licensing, under the\nsupervision of the division director, shall administer the laws in relation to traffic in\nalternative nicotine products, tobacco products, and authorized nicotine vapor\nproducts under KRS 438.305 to 438.350.","path":["KRS Chapter 241"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56250","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:51Z","sha256":"93b2a15cfcef75f1f670dc393bd46b2c5efe9abc05a229ad7370fd03a60ad833","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-241.015","next":"us-ky/krs-241.030"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
