{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-241.067","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 241.067","heading":"Limitation on number of quota retail package licenses in city that becomes","body":"wet separate from its county in local option election -- Exceptions --\nConstruction of section -- Reduction of quota licenses -- Superseding and\nreplacing wet city quota in dry county that becomes wet.\n(1) The number of quota retail package licenses issued by the department in any city\nthat becomes wet separate from its county by virtue of a local option election\npursuant to KRS 242.125 shall not exceed one (1) license fo r every two thousand\nthree hundred (2,300) persons resident in the city, except that:\n(a) No fewer than two (2) quota retail package licenses shall be available for\nissuance by the department in any wet city; and\n(b) Any specific city quota amounts that we re issued by the department prior to\nJanuary 1, 2018, in excess of the population calculations established in this\nsection shall remain in effect, and the department shall maintain the list of\nspecific quotas in an administrative regulation.\n(2) Nothing in  this section shall be construed to prohibit license renewal or license\ntransfers approved by the department of an existing quota retail license issued in a\nwet city.\n(3) In cities that have not received an increased quota license amount from the\ndepartment, any quota licenses over the established amount shall be reduced as the\nlicenses are revoked, surrendered, or not renewed by the license holder.\n(4) If a dry county in which a wet city is located becomes wet, the quota established for\nthat entire county by KRS 241.066 shall supersede and replace any separate city\nquota under this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 241"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47276","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:51Z","sha256":"6b701d767d951f7095cc3a5d74f741f6b38c6a361d52173f5688709fa1ad384c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-241.066","next":"us-ky/krs-241.068"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
