{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-242.030","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 242.030","heading":"Date of local option election.","body":"(1) The date of the local option election shall be stated in the petition for the local\noption election.\n(2) The local option election shall be held not earlier than sixty (60) and not later than\none hundred fifty (150) days after the date the petition is filed with the county clerk.\n(3) No local option election shall be held in the same territory more than once in every\nthree (3) years.\n(4) In order for the local option election to be held on the day fixed by law for holding a\nprimary, the petition shall be filed not earlier than the first Wednesday after the first\nMonday in November of the year preceding the day on which the primary is to be\nheld and not later than the last Tuesday in January preceding the day fixed by law\nfor holding the primary.\n(5) In order for the local option election to be held on the day fixed by law for a regular\nelection, the petition shall be filed not later than the second Tuesday in August\npreceding the day fixed by law for holding the regular election.","path":["KRS Chapter 242"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45918","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:52Z","sha256":"c4377caa6edaf3fe1537aa9832985f589ac8fb4712cd25d0fa5a9fc490fc302b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-242.022","next":"us-ky/krs-242.040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
