{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-242.280","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 242.280","heading":"Receiving alcoholic beverages from carrier in dry territory prohibited --","body":"Exception for receiving or accepting alcoholic beverages to be sold in lawful\nterritory within or without state -- Same prohibition on receiving alcoholic\nbeverages in any moist  territory unless sale of alcoholic beverages specifically\nauthorized under limited local option election.\n(1) It shall be unlawful for any person of dry territory to receive or accept any alcoholic\nbeverage from a common carrier or from any person who h as transported the\nbeverage in or into such territory for compensation, hire, or profit of any kind\nwhatsoever either directly or indirectly. Each and every package of said alcoholic\nbeverage so received or accepted shall constitute a separate offense. Not hing in this\nsection shall be construed to prevent any distiller or manufacturer of alcoholic\nbeverages or any authorized agent of a distiller or manufacturer or wholesale dealer\nfrom receiving or accepting any alcoholic beverages which are to be sold in a\nterritory where the sale of such beverages may be lawful either in or out of the state.\n(2) Subsection (1) of this section shall apply to any moist territory unless the sale of the\nalcoholic beverage in question has been specifically authorized in that mo ist\nterritory under a limited local option election.","path":["KRS Chapter 242"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42462","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:52Z","sha256":"50baf8139a05c6e6b3fce55c353687697c78e24e5bff179d6d9c230a7b0e0803","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-242.270","next":"us-ky/krs-242.290"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
