{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-243.045","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 243.045","heading":"Issuance of transitional license by state administrator or administrators --","body":"Limitations on use.\n(1) A transitional license may be issued by the state administrator or administrators\nduring the time a transfer of an ongoing business is being proc essed under the\nfollowing conditions:\n(a) The purchaser shall file an application for a permanent license with the\nappropriate local alcoholic beverage authority and with the department;\n(b) The purchaser shall advertise its intention to apply for a licens e pursuant to\nKRS 243.360; and\n(c) The purchaser shall pay all application fees for the permanent license.\n(2) If the above requirements are met, the state administrator or administrators, as\nappropriate, may issue a transitional license with a term of up to sixty (60) days,\nplus one (1) thirty (30) day renewal license, to the purchaser for a processing fee set\nforth in KRS 243.030 to 243.040. All transitional licenses immediately expire upon\nthe issuance to the purchaser of one (1) or more permanent licenses.\n(3) Upon completion of the sale of the business, the purchaser shall not operate the\nbusiness on the seller's license.\n(4) The transitional license shall not be transferable or used for an application to move\na business from one (1) location to another location.\n(5) The transitional license shall entitle the holder to the same privileges and\nrestrictions of the permanent license or licenses for which the holder applied under\nsubsection (1)(a) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 243"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45938","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:53Z","sha256":"6a705c7d3ad38b1560f540f3c91ea14b530494b75d85a66f9b08aa7dee274216","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-243.042","next":"us-ky/krs-243.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
