{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-243.150","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 243.150","heading":"Business authorized by brewer's license -- Sale and service of malt","body":"beverages -- Sampling by employees.\n(1) A brewer's license shall authorize the licensee to engage in the business of a brewer\nat the premises specifically designated in t he license, and to transport for itself only\nany malt beverage which the licensee is authorized by its license to manufacture or\nsell, but the licensee shall transport any malt beverages in accordance with the\nrequirements provided by KRS 243.120 for distillers.\n(2) A brewer may sell any malt beverage produced under its license to:\n(a) A licensed wholesaler from the licensed premises;\n(b) Any of its employees for home consumption;\n(c) Charitable or fraternal organizations holding group meetings, picnics, or\noutings;\n(d) A customer, strictly limited to the following types of sales on the premises of\na brewery located in wet territory:\n1. By the drink sales for consumption on the premises only, to be\nconducted in a taproom or similar space that is located at t he licensed\nbrewery; and\n2. Package sales for off -premises consumption only by using a refillable,\nresealable growler; and\n(e) Consumers, if the brewer holds a direct shipper license under KRS 243.027 to\n243.029.\n(3) A licensed brewer may buy malt beverage s from another licensed brewer in this\nstate or nonresident brewer authorized by the law of the state of its residence, and\nby the United States government if located in the United States, to make these sales;\n(4) Employees of a licensed brewer may sample the products produced by that\nmanufacturer for purposes of education, quality control, and product development.\n(5) A brewer may serve on the licensed premises of its brewery complimentary samples\nof malt beverages produced at the brewery in an amount not to exceed sixteen (16)\nounces per patron per day, if the brewery is located in wet territory.","path":["KRS Chapter 243"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50317","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:53Z","sha256":"4893796a578342ec16a9ae6e4f2fa255793a704b6839f24ad8632e255c242cec","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-243.140","next":"us-ky/krs-243.154"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
