{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-243.180","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 243.180","heading":"Business authorized by distributor's license.","body":"(1) A distributor's license shall authorize the licensee to:\n(a) Purchase malt beverages from Kentucky breweries or from out -of-state\nbreweries or distributors licensed to do business by the state in which they are\nlocated;\n(b) Import a non -United States brand  malt beverage from an importer or\nwholesaler registered with the Kentucky Department of Revenue;\n(c) Sell his or her products to the holder of a special nonbeverage alcohol license;\nor\n(d) Store malt beverages and to sell them only, from the licensed prem ises, to\nother distributors, to licensed retailers, to any of its employees for home\nconsumption, and to charitable or fraternal organizations holding group\nmeetings, picnics, or outings.\n(2) A distributor shall transport malt beverages only by a vehicle o wned, rented, or\nleased and operated by the distributor, which has affixed to its sides at all times a\nsign of form and size prescribed by the state board, containing among other things\nthe name and license number of the licensee. No distilled spirits or w ine shall be\ntransported on the same truck or vehicle with malt beverages, except by a common\ncarrier, unless the owner of such truck or vehicle holds a wholesaler's license.\n(3) A distributor's license must be obtained for each separate warehouse, agent,\ndistributor, broker, jobber, or place of business from which orders are received or\nbeverages are distributed unless it is a licensed brewery.","path":["KRS Chapter 243"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42500","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:53Z","sha256":"74a359b9f7fc8dfbd64e26ca197a52df426454d0873c5eec72f6ec32536f479a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-243.170","next":"us-ky/krs-243.185"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
