{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-246.285","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 246.285","heading":"Powers of Commissioner concerning assets of Kentucky Rural","body":"Rehabilitation Corporation.\n(1) The Commissioner of Agriculture of the State of Kentucky is authorized and\nempowered to:\n(a) Collect, compromise, adjust or cancel claims and obligations arisin g out of or\nadministered under KRS 246.270 to 246.290 or under any mortgage, lease,\ncontract or agreement entered into or administered pursuant to KRS 246.270\nto 246.290 and, if in his judgment, necessary and advisable, pursue the same\nto final collection in any court having jurisdiction;\n(b) Bid for and purchase at any execution, foreclosure or other sale, or otherwise\nto acquire property upon which the Secretary has a lien by reason of a\njudgment or execution, or which is pledged, mortgaged, conveyed or w hich\notherwise secures any loan or other indebtedness owing to or acquired by the\nSecretary under KRS 246.270 to 246.290; and\n(c) Accept title to any property so purchased or acquired; to operate or lease such\nproperty for such period as may be deemed nece ssary to protect the\ninvestment therein; and to sell or otherwise dispose of such property in a\nmanner consistent with the provisions of KRS 246.270 to 246.290.\n(2) The authority herein contained may be delegated to the Secretary of Agriculture of\nthe Unit ed States with respect to funds and assets transferred to him pursuant to\nKRS 246.275.","path":["KRS Chapter 246"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11544","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:56Z","sha256":"4a480a1be17c658d8b5a173208af78b747d2783ea4551081f70e94d663e74d16","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-246.280","next":"us-ky/krs-246.290"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
