{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.190","heading":"Revenues  of State Fair Board, use and disposition of -- Deposit of","body":"funds  -- Accounting  and  report -- Board  empowered  to receive tax\nrevenues  from any governmental  unit and financial contributions from\nothers, as specified.\n(1) All revenues derived by the State Fair Board from the use of properties and\nfacilities under its custody and control shall be used exclusively for the purpose\nof defraying the expenses of the board, the cost of the management  and\noperation of such properties and facilities, the payment of interest and principal\nupon any indebtedness incurred by the board for such properties and facilities,\nthe creation of adequate reserves for the repair and replacement thereof, and\nfor the financing of further extensions, improvements, and additions thereto.\nIncluded in the cost of operation may  be such promotional activities as the\nState Fair Board may determine upon as calculated to stimulate and increase\nthe use and the revenues of such facilities, and to increase and stimulate the\ninterest and usefulness of the State Fair. Any surplus revenues remaining after\nfull provision for the above purposes shall be used to reduce the admission\nfees and charges to the public for attendance upon the State Fair and for public\nuse  by the citizens of the Commonwealth  of the facilities of the State Fair\nBoard, and shall on no account be appropriated to any other agency or\nfunction.\n(2) The  State Fair Board shall generally cause its funds to be deposited in the\nState Treasurer's office, to be withdrawn on appropriate vouchers approved by\nthe board, but may  create special accounts in other depositories for the\npurpose of securing the prompt payment of interest and principal on any of its\nbonded  indebtedness if in the judgment of the board, or, if as determined by\ncompetitive bids, the creation of such special accounts and depositories is\nadvantageous and economical to the board.\n(3) The  State Fair Board may receive tax revenues from any governmental unit\nand  financial contributions from local governments, private persons, or\nfoundations.\n(4) An annual accounting of the funds of the state fair board shall be made by the\nAuditor of Public Accounts and reported to the Governor and the Legislative\nResearch Commission for the benefit of Governor and the General Assembly.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50770","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:57Z","sha256":"fe2ac3e7e63f584decc6e6bbf0a996dcb0355897014800b2288fa736f933dc2e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.180","next":"us-ky/krs-247.200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
