{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.300","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.300","heading":"Fiscal court to appropriate money for bureau, when -- Limit on amount --","body":"Additional appropriation for agricultural extension work.\n(1) Whenever the secretary and the treasurer of a county farm bureau organized under\nKRS 247.240 to 247.370 have certifi ed to the fiscal court of the county that the\nbureau has not less than one hundred (100) members who own or operate farms in\nthe county and has a fund of not less than five hundred dollars ($500) in the\npossession of its treasurer, which fund was obtained from among its members by\nmembership dues or otherwise, the fiscal court shall, subject to subsection (2),\nappropriate for county cooperative extension work out of the general fund of the\ncounty to aid in carrying on extension work in that county in agricu lture and home\neconomics and in connection with the University of Kentucky, a sum equal to twice\nthe amount of the said fund in the hands of the bureau.\n(2) The total sum appropriated under this section by the fiscal court shall not, in any\nyear, exceed:\n(a) Five thousand dollars ($5,000) in any county having an assessed property\nvaluation of twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) or more;\n(b) Four thousand dollars ($4,000) in any county having an assessed property\nvaluation of more than fifteen million dolla rs ($15,000,000) but less than\ntwenty million dollars ($20,000,000);\n(c) Three thousand dollars ($3,000) in any county having an assessed property\nvaluation of between ten ($10,000,000) and fifteen million dollars\n($15,000,000);\n(d) Two thousand dollars ($ 2,000) in any county having an assessed property\nvaluation of between five ($5,000,000) and ten million dollars ($10,000,000)\nor\n(e) One thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) in any county having an assessed\nproperty valuation of not more than five million dollars ($5,000,000).\n(3) Nothing in this section shall prevent or prohibit a fiscal court from appropriating\nadditional funds in support of agricultural extension work under provisions of KRS\n247.080 and appropriations made under either section shall be  expended as\nprovided for in KRS 247.310.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11622","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:57Z","sha256":"684e465cc14805c814f825bd38d192809d01a293aa1629a502908a1a7a50f388","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.290","next":"us-ky/krs-247.310"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
