{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.350","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.350","heading":"Organization and function of state federation.","body":"Any state federation organized pursuant to KRS 247.330 and 247.340 shall have the\nfollowing organization and function in the following manner:\n(1) The said federation shall hold an annual meeting at a date to be fixed by its bylaws,\nwhich annual meeting ma y be referred to as the \"annual convention\" of said\nfederation;\n(2) Each county farm bureau shall be entitled to no less than two (2) voting delegates at\nthe annual convention of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation. When a county\nfarm bureau has received, during the fiscal year ending prior to said state\nconvention, one hundred fifty (150) paid -in regular memberships, as defined in the\nbylaws of the federation, each additional one hundred (100) paid -in regular\nmemberships or major portion thereof shall enti tle the county farm bureau to an\nadditional voting delegate. No voting delegate shall vote by proxy, unless the proxy\nis in writing in a form approved by the board of directors of the state federation;\n(3) The governing body of said state federation shall consist of a board of directors of\nnot less than seven (7) members. The distribution of said directors shall be by state\nfederation districts, and set forth in the bylaws of the corporation. Each director\nshall be elected for a term of two (2) years, shall  be a resident of the district from\nwhich he is elected, must be actively engaged in farming, or evidencing a primary\ninterest therein by reason of his position or occupation, and shall be nominated by\nthe voting delegates of said district and elected by a  majority vote of the voting\ndelegates voting either in person or by proxy at said election;\n(4) Said state federation, by bylaws, shall have authority to provide for additional\ndirectors representing cooperating agricultural agencies;\n(5) The officers of said federation shall consist of a president, a first vice president, and\na second vice president, who shall be elected by majority vote cast by the voting\ndelegates at the annual convention, and there shall be an executive officer of the\ncorporation, who shall be elected by the board of directors, and who shall be an ex\nofficio member of the board, without power to vote; and\n(6) The board of directors shall select from its membership an executive committee\ncomposed of three (3) persons, and said committee shall have general charge of the\nmanagement of the business of the federation in the interim between meetings of\nthe board of directors and shall possess such powers, duties and responsibilities as\nmay be provided in the bylaws of the federation or by reso lution of the board of\ndirectors.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11627","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:57Z","sha256":"f9e1fd54b4b500592f4578adf07677acf7c483fc4f2a9519fa72f0909827bb0c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.340","next":"us-ky/krs-247.360"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
