{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.453","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.453","heading":"Definitions for KRS 247.450 to 247.505.","body":"As used in KRS 247.450 to 247.505, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Commissioner\" means the commissioner of agriculture;\n(2) \"Board\" means the state board of agriculture;\n(3) \"Producer\" means every person who produces milk or cream from cows and\nthereafter causes the same to be marketed as milk, cream or other dairy products;\n(4) \"New producer\" means a producer who was not engaged in the business of\nproducing milk at the time a referendum was conducted in accordance with the\nprovisions of KRS 247.450 to 247.505;\n(5) \"Person\" means any individual, corporation, partnership, association, cooperative or\nother business entity;\n(6) \"Milk\" means milk from cows and all of its natural components, sweet cream, sour\ncream, skim milk, flavored milk, but termilk, condensed or concentrated whole or\nskim milk for use in milk products of every kind and description;\n(7) \"Handler\" or \"dealer\" means any person, including any distributor, processor, bulk\nmilk handler, or operator of a store, who purchases or rec eives on consignment or\notherwise, milk and milk products of every kind and description, within the state,\nfor sale, shipment, storage, processing, or manufacture;\n(8) \"Processor\" means any person engaged in the business of processing milk and other\nmaterial into milk products of every kind and description.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11672","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:57Z","sha256":"c1919bc4bb43aed4307dab0c0429d40dc0e49b71170ea2fdc29b92d86cc30554","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.450","next":"us-ky/krs-247.457"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
