{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.483","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.483","heading":"Rules governing holding of referendum prescribed by Commissioner --","body":"Notice -- Limit on assessment.\nThe hours, voting places, rules and regulations and the area within which such\nreferendum herein authorized with respect to such agricultural commodity herein referred\nto shall be established and determined by the Commissioner of Agriculture; the said\nreferendum date, area, hours, voting places, rules and regulations with respect to the\nholding of such referendum shall be published by the Commissioner con ducting the same\nthrough the medium of the public press in the Commonwealth of Kentucky at least thirty\n(30) days before the holding of such referendum, and direct written notice thereof shall\nlikewise be given to each county or area agent, in any county i n which such agricultural\nproduct is produced. Such notice shall likewise contain a statement of the amount of the\nassessment proposed to be levied, which assessment in any event shall not exceed one\nand one -half percent (1.5%) of the value of the year's p roduction of such agricultural\ncommodity grown by the producer included in the group to which such referendum is\nsubmitted, and shall likewise state the method by which such assessment shall be\ncollected and how the proceeds thereof shall be administered a nd the purposes to which\nthe same shall be applied, which purposes shall be in keeping with the provisions of KRS\n247.450 to 247.505.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11681","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:58Z","sha256":"d9c98d805c59d9d08e07c35b0aa48a1b2b933e86ecad8d5a9df781587365b8cc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.480","next":"us-ky/krs-247.487"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
