{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.490","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.490","heading":"Affirmative vote, effect -- Domestic and foreign associations.","body":"(1) If, in such referendum called under the provisions of KRS 247.450 to 247.505, a\nmajority of the producers in the area in which such referendum is conducted,\neligible to participate and voting therein, shall vote in the affirmative and in favor of\nthe levying and collection of such assessment proposed in such referendum on such\nagricultural commodity, then such assessment shall be collected in the manner\ndetermined and announced by the agency conducting such referendum.\n(2) Any agricultural cooperative assoc iation organized under KRS Chapter 272 or\n272A, any foreign agricultural cooperative association, or any foreign limited\ncooperative association that has received a certificate of authority to conduct\nbusiness in the Commonwealth in the same manner as a do mestic agricultural\ncooperative association, on application to and approval by the Commissioner, may\nby an alternate procedure, not in conflict with the purposes of KRS 247.450 to\n247.505, handle the collection and disbursement of the assessments of its me mbers.\nThe purchaser of the agricultural commodity of the members of such association\nshall be relieved of the collecting and reporting requirements of KRS 247.493 with\nrespect to such members.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=41111","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:58Z","sha256":"ee05598ea27ec4c208e332bd6e86d38ea14cffec98041366de3a153958ccc4dc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.487","next":"us-ky/krs-247.493"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
