{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.5063","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.5063","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in KRS 247.5061 to 247.5095, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Agriculture;\n(2) \"Board\" means the State Board of Agriculture;\n(3) \"Small grains\" means all kinds and varieties of cereal grains.\n(4) \"Bushel\" means the weight for each type of cereal grain defined by the United\nStates Department of Agriculture (USDA);\n(5) \"Producer\" means every person who produces and markets small grains;\n(6) \"New producer\" means a producer who was not engaged in the bu siness of\nproducing small grains at the time a referendum was conducted in accordance with\nthe provisions of KRS 247.5061 to 247.5095;\n(7) \"Person\" means any individual, corporation, partnership, association, cooperative,\nor other business entity;\n(8) \"Marketing year\" means from June 1 to May 31 of the following year;\n(9) \"Purchaser\" means any person, public or private corporation, federal Commodity\nCredit Corporation, association, or partnership buying, accepting for shipment, or\notherwise acquiring the pr operty in or to small grains from a producer, and shall\ninclude a mortgagee, pledgee, lienor, or other person, public or private, having a\nclaim against the producer, when the actual or constructive possession of the small\ngrains is taken as part payment o r in satisfaction of a mortgage, pledge, lien, or\nclaim; and\n(10) \"Marketed\" means any quantities that are sold, bartered, or for which other items of\nvalue are exchanged.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11689","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:58Z","sha256":"25760b00fafccfcf47904b9c0f8a42abcf88c8d7b0c43f4f2f104a09f26c48f3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.5061","next":"us-ky/krs-247.5065"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
