{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.5089","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.5089","heading":"Use of assessment funds.","body":"The funds, including donations from individuals, concerns, corporations, and grants from\nthe state or governmental agencies, shall be used for the purpose of promoting and\nstimulating, by research, market development and education, the increased use and sa le,\ndomestic and foreign, of small grains and small grains products; and for the prevention,\nmodification, or elimination of trade barriers which obstruct the free flow of small grains\nand small grains products to market. None of these funds shall be used to lobby as\ndefined in KRS 6.611. The duly certified association receiving the assessment funds shall,\nupon the advice and consent of the Kentucky Small Grain Promotion Council, use and\ndisburse the same as follows:\n(1) The association may first refund to itself therefrom the costs and expenses incurred\nin the conduct of the referendum;\n(2) The association may spend or disburse the necessary funds therefrom for\nadministrative costs and expenses, but no more than fifteen percent (15%) of the\nfunds collected in any marketing year shall be so utilized; and\n(3) The balance remaining shall be used for the purposes provided in this section, as\ndetermined by the Kentucky Small Grain Promotion Council.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11702","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:58Z","sha256":"cbace6feb5589f41ab2c3c161694dc84c3e90cc378b47498e3f2f8caf9d7e055","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.5087","next":"us-ky/krs-247.5091"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
