{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.515","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.515","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in KRS 247.510 to 247.595 unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Agriculture;\n(2) \"Board\" means the State Board of Agriculture;\n(3) \"Producer\" means every person who produces soybeans and thereafter caus es the\nsame to be marketed;\n(4) \"New producer\" means a producer who was not engaged in the business of\nproducing soybeans at the time a referendum was conducted in accordance with the\nprovisions of KRS 247.510 to 247.595;\n(5) \"Person\" means any individual,  corporation, partnership, association, cooperative,\nor other business entity;\n(6) \"Marketing year\" means from July 1 to June 30 of the following year;\n(7) \"Purchaser\" means any person, public or private corporation, federal commodity\ncredit corporation, a ssociation, or partnership buying, accepting for shipment, or\notherwise acquiring the property in or to soybeans from a producer, and shall\ninclude a mortgagee, pledgee, lienor, or other person, public or private, having a\nclaim against the producer, when the actual or constructive possession of such\nsoybeans is taken as part payment or in satisfaction of such mortgage, pledge, lien,\nor claim;\n(8) \"Net market price\" means the sales price or other value received by a producer for\nsoybeans after adjustments h ave been made for any premium or discount based on\ngrading or quality factors; and\n(9) \"Promotion board\" means the Kentucky Soybean Promotion Board.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11707","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:58Z","sha256":"eef7a34568315b1c1d9c430070c5f88d505dbb38f75943376207ba2737b80f32","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.510","next":"us-ky/krs-247.520"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
