{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.6040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.6040","heading":"Definitions for KRS 247.6040 to 247.6070.","body":"As used in KRS 247.6040 to 247.6070, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Association\" means any commission, council, board, or other body;\n(2) \"Boll weevil\" means Anthonomus grandis Boheman in any stage of development;\n(3) \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Agriculture or the Commissioner's\ndesignee;\n(4) \"Cotton\" means any cotton plant or cotton plant product upon which the boll weevil\nis dependent for completion of any portion of its life cycle;\n(5) \"Cotton grower\" means any person who is eng aged in and has an economic risk in\nthe business of producing, or causing to be produced, cotton for market;\n(6) \"Host\" means any plant or plant product upon which the boll weevil is dependent\nfor completion of any portion of its life cycle;\n(7) \"Infested\" means actually infested with a boll weevil, or so exposed to infestation\nthat it would be reasonable to believe that an infestation exists; and\n(8) \"Regulated article\" means any article of any character carrying or capable of\ncarrying the boll weevil, inc luding but not limited to cotton plants, seed cotton,\nother hosts, gin trash, and mechanical cotton pickers.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11747","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:58Z","sha256":"bcbe7efba5ff0891673e32eaba1f46790df1d4199cd44889939b3a55012cb73a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.6035","next":"us-ky/krs-247.6042"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
