{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.650","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.650","heading":"Commissioner to determine date, hours, polling places for voting and","body":"details of assessment -- Limits -- Exceptions.\n(1) With respect to any referendum conducted under the provisions of KRS 247.610 to\n247.685, the Commissioner of Agriculture shall, b efore calling and announcing the\nreferendum, fix, determine, and publicly announce at least thirty (30) days before\nthe date determined for the referendum, the date, hours, and polling places for\nvoting in the referendum, the effective date of the assessme nt, if adopted, the\namount and basis of the assessment proposed to be collected, the means by which\nthe assessment shall be collected if authorized by the producers, and the general\npurposes to which the amount collected shall be applied. No assessment lev ied\nunder the provisions of any single referendum shall exceed one dollar ($1) on each\nbovine animal marketed in the state by any producer included in the group to which\nthe referendum was submitted or by any person subsequently becoming a new\nproducer in the area in which the referendum was held.\n(2) No assessment shall be made on any bovine animal marketed in the state which\nsells for ten dollars ($10) or less.\n(3) Any assessment levied after June 25, 2013, shall be in addition to the federal\nassessment referenced in KRS 247.652.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42594","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"6cdc1d3919efaf98c37a92008aaebc403ddc6fa38b0df70ba4d35003a94f6e87","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.645","next":"us-ky/krs-247.652"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
