{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.670","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.670","heading":"Notice as to deduction required -- Disposition of collections -- Records.","body":"(1) In the event a majority of the eligible producers in such referendum who vote\ntherein shall vote in favor of the assessment, then the Commissioner shall notify\nforthwith, by certified mail, every person licensed to operate a livestock market in\nthe sta te, as well as every person who operates a meat packing or slaughter\nestablishment which buys bovine animals directly from the producer and every\norder buyer, that on and after the date designated in the notice, which shall be not\nless than thirty (30) day s nor more than sixty (60) days after the mailing of the\nnotice by the Commissioner, the amount of the assessment shall be deducted by all\nsuch sales markets or purchasers of bovine animals, or by their agents or\nrepresentatives, from the purchase price paid the seller of bovine animals.\n(2) On or before the fifteenth day of each month all assessments deducted shall be\nremitted to the association certified by the assessment referendum, less three\npercent (3%) which may be retained to compensate the stockyar d operator, meat\npacker, order buyer, or slaughter establishment operator for the expense of\ncollecting and remitting the assessment.\n(3) The books and records of all stockyard operators, meat packers, order buyers, and\nslaughter establishment operators shall at all times during regular business hours be\nopen for inspection by the Commissioner or his duly authorized agents for the\npurpose of ascertaining the accuracy of the amounts remitted.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11776","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"a64e3403bf6b191f7a90b8078d158e566e11fcd26b821a60995cf0678aed1a6b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.665","next":"us-ky/krs-247.675"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
