{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.6904","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.6904","heading":"Definitions for KRS 247.6901 to 247.6957.","body":"As used in KRS 247.6901 to 247.6957, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Agriculture;\n(2) \"Board\" means the State Board of Agriculture;\n(3) \"Producer\" means every person who produces and markets ovine or capr ine\nanimals;\n(4) \"New producer\" means a producer who was not engaged in the business of\nproducing ovine or caprine animals at the time a referendum was conducted in\naccordance with the provisions of KRS 247.6901 to 247.6957;\n(5) \"Marketing year\" means from July 1 to June 30;\n(6) \"Purchaser\" means any person buying, accepting for shipment, or otherwise\nacquiring the property in or to ovine or caprine animals from a producer, and shall\ninclude a mortgagee, pledgee, lienor, or other person, public or private, having a\nclaim against the producer, when the actual or constructive possession of the ovine\nor caprine animals is taken as part payment or in satisfaction of a mortgage, pledge,\nlien, or claim;\n(7) \"Marketed\" means any quantities that are sold, bartered, or for which other items of\nvalue are exchanged;\n(8) \"Net market price\" means the sales price or other value received by a producer for\novine or caprine animals after adjustments have been made for any premium or\ndiscount based on grading or quality factors;\n(9) \"Association\" means any commission, council, board, or other body;\n(10) \"Caprine\" means of, or pertaining to, goats; and\n(11) \"Ovine\" means of, or pertaining to, sheep.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11781","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"8190a3acca7ef5c9fe55bde054ef5e414839ab48c5a17e33dd393bed8de57e1d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.6901","next":"us-ky/krs-247.6907"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
