{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.6947","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.6947","heading":"Use of assessment funds.","body":"The funds, including donations from individuals, concerns, corporations, and grants from\nthe state or governmental agencies, shall be used for the purpose of promoting and\nstimulating, by research, market development, and education, the increased use and s ale,\ndomestic and foreign, of ovine or caprine animals; and for the prevention, modification,\nor elimination of trade barriers which obstruct the free flow of ovine or caprine animals to\nmarket. None of these funds shall be used to lobby as defined in KRS 6.611. The duly\ncertified association receiving the assessment funds shall, upon the advice and consent of\nthe Kentucky Sheep and Goat Council, use and disburse the funds as follows:\n(1) The association may first refund to itself the costs and expenses inc urred in the\nconduct of the referendum; and\n(2) The association may spend or disburse the necessary funds for administrative costs\nand expenses as determined by the Kentucky Sheep and Goat Council, with the\nbalance remaining to be used for the purposes provided in this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11794","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"ae7f8276618387cfcfb292235a150eda0318ea18d7268029a811befe9e519220","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.6944","next":"us-ky/krs-247.6951"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
