{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.7912","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.7912","heading":"Commissioner to determine date, hours, polling places for voting, and","body":"details of assessment -- Uses and limitations of assessment.\n(1) With respect to any referendum conducted under the provisions of KRS 247.7900 to\n247.7928, the Commissioner shall, before calling and announcing the referendum,\nfix, determine, and publicly announce at least thirty (30) days before the date\ndetermined for the referendum, the date, hours, and polling places for voting in the\nreferendum, the effective date of the assessment, if adopted, the amount and basis of\nthe assessment proposed to be collected, the means by which the assessment shall\nbe collected if authorized by the producers, and the general purposes to which any\namount collected shall be applied.\n(2) Any assessment levied by any referendum conducted under the provisions of KRS\n247.7900 to 247.7928 shall be used for the purpose of financing or contributing\ntowards the financing of a program of research, market development, and education\nto increase the domestic and  foreign consumption, use, sale, and markets for\nporcine animals and porcine animal products.\n(3) No assessment levied by any referendum conducted under the provisions of KRS\n247.7900 to 247.7928 shall exceed fifty cents ($0.50) per hundred dollars ($100)\nworth of sales on porcine animals marketed in the state by any producer included in\nthe group to which the referendum was submitted or by any person subsequently\nbecoming a new producer in the area in which the referendum was held.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11820","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"196c067b5bc702f98f4108a875e00a6ea4ef8764a10f87a641ce22e245c109f0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.7910","next":"us-ky/krs-247.7914"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
