{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.7922","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.7922","heading":"Notice of deduction required -- Disposition of collections -- Records.","body":"(1) If a majority of the eligible producers who vote in the referendum vote in favor of\nthe assessment, then the Commissioner shall notify by certified mail every person\nlicensed to operate a livestock market in the state, and every person who operates a\nmeat packing or slaughter establishment which buys porcine animals directly from\nthe producer, that on and after the date designated in the notice, which shall be not\nless than thirty (30) days nor more than sixty (60) days after the mailing of the\nnotice by the Commissioner, the amount of the assessment shall be deducted by all\nsales markets or purchasers of porcine animals, or by their agents or representatives,\nfrom the purchase price paid the seller of porcine animals.\n(2) On or before the fifteenth day of each month, all assessments deducted shall be\nremitted to the association certified by the assessment referendum, less three\npercent (3%) which may be retained to compensate the livestock market operator,\nmeat packer, or slaughter establishment operator fo r the expense of collecting and\nremitting the assessment.\n(3) The books and records of all livestock market operators, meat packers, and\nslaughter establishment operators shall at all times during regular business hours be\nopen for inspection by the Commis sioner or his duly authorized agents for the\npurpose of ascertaining the accuracy of the amounts remitted.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11825","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"fafe2adac3b211bf0ad2f6aeef2fbf35beba0cd8f98fd551466489d77053cb42","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.7920","next":"us-ky/krs-247.7924"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
