{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-247.801","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 247.801","heading":"Definitions for KRS  247.800 to 247.810.","body":"As used in KRS 247.800 to 247.810:\n(1) \"Agritourism\" means the act of visiting:\n(a) A farm or ranch; or\n(b) Any agricultural, horticultural, or agribusiness operation;\nfor the purpose of enjoyment, education, or active involvement in the activities\nof the farm, ranch, or operation;\n(2) \"Agritourism activity\" means any activity that:\n(a) Is carried out on a farm, ranch, agricultural operation, horticultural\noperation, or agribusiness operation; and\n(b) Allows or invites participants to view or participate in activities for\nrecreational, entertainment, or educational purposes. Qualifying activities\nmay  include farming, ranching, historic, cultural, civic, or ceremonial\nactivities, including but not limited to weddings and ancillary events;\nharvest-your-own operations; farmers' markets; or natural resource-based\nactivities. The activities may qualify as agritourism activities whether or\nnot a participant pays to view or to participate in the activity;\n(3) \"Agritourism building\" means  any building or structure or any portion thereof\nthat is used for one (1) or more agritourism activities;\n(4) \"Agritourism professional\" means  any  person, including employees  or\nauthorized agents acting on behalf of the agritourism professional, who  is\nengaged in the business of providing one (1) or more agritourism activities;\n(5) \"Inherent risks of agritourism activity\" means those dangers or conditions that\nare an integral part of an agritourism activity, including certain hazards, such as\nsurface or subsurface conditions; natural conditions of land, vegetation, or\nwater; the behavior of wild or domestic animals; and the ordinary dangers of\nstructures or equipment used in farming and ranching operations; and\n(6) \"Participant\" means  any person, other than the agritourism professional, who\nengages in an agritourism activity.","path":["KRS Chapter 247"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=47047","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:52:59Z","sha256":"f1d3f412f8f6f7e9e8e38d309a7563b84b301318f578dcebe3b044c4b141cb2d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-247.800","next":"us-ky/krs-247.802"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
