{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-248.540","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 248.540","heading":"Tobacco research-trust fund.","body":"(1) The tax revenues received from the additional one -half cent ($0.005) tax levied by\nChapter 255 of the Acts of 1970 shall be credited to a tobacco research -trust fund\nwhich is hereby created.\n(2) Federal funds which may be made available to supplement or ma tch state funds for\nresearch programs provided for by KRS 248.510 to 248.570 shall be credited to the\ntrust fund created in subsection (1) of this section.\n(3) Funds deposited to the credit of the tobacco research -trust fund shall be used to\nfinance the re search programs authorized under the provisions of KRS 248.510 to\n248.570 and for no other purpose.\n(4) Funds unexpended at the close of a fiscal year shall not lapse but shall be carried\nforward to the next fiscal year or biennium, provided, however, that  such surplus\nshall be included in the budget considered and approved by the board for the\nensuing period.","path":["KRS Chapter 248"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11953","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:01Z","sha256":"88c59a98e53eaa00e183871c2323769604deda550ab0cd0b4e41f1df71646bbd","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-248.530","next":"us-ky/krs-248.550"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
