{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-248.701","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 248.701","heading":"Definitions for KRS 248.701 to 248.727.","body":"As used in KRS 248.701 to 248.727, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Board\" means the Agricultural Development Board created by KRS 248.707;\n(2) \"Fund\" means the agricultural development fund established in KRS 248.655 as the\n\"Rural Development Fund;\"\n(3) \"Subcommittee\" means the Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight\nCommittee created by KRS 248.723;\n(4) \"Council\" means an agricultural development council required by KRS 248.721;\n(5) \"Master Settlement Agreement\" means the settlement agreeme nt dated November\n23, 1998, entered into by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and major United States\ntobacco product manufacturers; and\n(6) \"Phase II Agreement\" means the National Tobacco Grower Settlement Trust\nAgreement dated July 19, 1999, entered into by t obacco states and major tobacco\ncompanies to compensate tobacco growers and quota owners for losses resulting\nfrom the Master Settlement Agreement.","path":["KRS Chapter 248"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11968","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:01Z","sha256":"50c76dada48bcca81101d610774493735d6d59cc3008d3eb0819f3ebd233c199","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-248.664","next":"us-ky/krs-248.703"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
