{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-248.717","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 248.717","heading":"Creation and implementation of board's programs.","body":"Programs that shall be created by the board and overseen and implemented by the board\nor committees include:\n(1) Programs that receive direct funding from the board:\n(a) A Farm Market Development and Infrastructure Program to develop regional,\nintegrated f arm markets, and regional or community capital projects. The\nboard may authorize moneys to the Department of Agriculture for each year of\nthe biennium to be used for agriculture market development and\ninfrastructure; and\n(b) An Agricultural Entrepreneurshi p Program overseen by the board to support\nsmall farm agricultural diversification through technical assistance, business\nmentoring, and financial incentives.\n(2) Programs that receive direct authorization for moneys from the agricultural\ndevelopment fund by the General Assembly may include, but not be limited to:\n(a) An Environmental Stewardship Program to provide cost -share assistance to\nfarmland owners for compliance with the state agriculture water quality plan\nand other environmental compliance requirements; and\n(b) A Rural Water Line Extension Program to provide municipal water in areas of\nhigh agricultural activity or need. Priority shall be given to the tobacco -\nimpacted communities most adversely affected by tobacco losses. The General\nAssembly shall  authorize the issuance of bonds through the Kentucky\nInfrastructure Authority for this program.\n(3) The board may create and fund other agricultural assistance programs in addition to\nthose created under subsection (1) of this section, including an enviro nmental\ncleanup program for cost -share assistance to tobacco warehouse operators for\ndemolition and abatement of environmental hazards associated with tobacco\nwarehouse structures.","path":["KRS Chapter 248"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=11976","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:01Z","sha256":"c089ce3c7c1897679ac784995daa91458065eb338ad75749b48b092a1d8ef7e5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-248.715","next":"us-ky/krs-248.719"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
