{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-249.350","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 249.350","heading":"Control and elimination of mosquitoes -- Duty of Commissioner.","body":"(1) As used in this section, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(a) \"Commissioner\" means  that as defined in subsection (1) of Section\n249.010 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes.\n(b) \"Department\" means that as defined in subsection (2) of Section 249.010\nof the Kentucky Revised Statutes.\n(c) \"Director\" means that as defined in subsection (3) of Section 249.010 of\nthe Kentucky Revised Statutes.\n(2) When  it appears to the Commissioner that mosquitoes are present in any area\nof the state in sufficient numbers  to warrant action, he shall conduct an\nimmediate  investigation of the causes thereof, and  corrective measures\nnecessary. The Commissioner shall undertake the control and elimination of\nmosquitoes in such area, utilizing whatever measures appear necessary so\nlong as such methods in no wise damage  the property of any person, and do\nnot constitute a menace  to the health of persons or livestock, including cattle,\nsheep, swine, goats, horses, alpacas, llamas, buffaloes, or any other animals\nof the bovine, ovine, porcine, caprine, equine, or camelid species.","path":["KRS Chapter 249"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=46650","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:02Z","sha256":"5ada51305ca87e580f6c3daf43443217e2d4c4a68deb2cfb6f457a68aefc9632","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-249.345","next":"us-ky/krs-249.400"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
