{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-24a.100","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 24A.100","heading":"Trial commissioners.","body":"(1) In any county which does not have a District Judge resident in the county there\nshall be a trial commissioner.\n(2) Trial commissioners shall be appointed in the manner required by Section 113 of\nthe Constitution of Kentucky and shall perform such duties as  may be directed by\nthe Supreme Court.\n(3) Trial commissioners in District Court shall be compensated as provided in the\njudicial personnel system, provided, however that no trial commissioner shall be\ncompensated at a rate greater than seven thousand two hundred dollars ($7,200) per\nyear. Except that during the disability or suspension of a District Judge for a period\nin excess of sixty (60) days, a trial commissioner who is qualified as an attorney\nand who is authorized to perform extraordinary duties, ma y be compensated by the\nSupreme Court in an amount not exceeding the salary of a District Judge, provided\nsuch trial commissioner shall not engage in the practice of law during the period of\nextraordinary service.","path":["KRS Chapter 24A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20689","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:44Z","sha256":"a648c37aafb6f32bb23634272e7f1bec4e1e2a637192454dbb42aeefe201fc0f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-24a.090","next":"us-ky/krs-24a.110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
