{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-24a.120","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 24A.120","heading":"Civil and probate jurisdiction.","body":"District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction in:\n(1) Civil cases in which the amount in controversy does not exceed five thousand\ndollars ($5,000), exclusive of interest and costs, except matters affecting title to real\nestate and matters of equity; ho wever, nothing herein shall prohibit execution levy\non real estate in enforcement of judgment of District Court;\n(2) Matters involving probate, except matters contested in an adversary proceeding.\nSuch adversary proceeding shall be filed in Circuit Court i n accordance with the\nKentucky Rules of Civil Procedure and shall not be considered an appeal;\n(3) Matters not provided for by statute to be commenced in Circuit Court shall be\ndeemed to be nonadversarial within the meaning of subsection (2) of this sectio n\nand therefore are within the jurisdiction of the District Court; and\n(4) Matters involving trusts in accordance with KRS 386B.2-030.","path":["KRS Chapter 24A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43159","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:44Z","sha256":"c2bf08856e997a320ae76602bdc2fd221866d2696d71a4a6515a91b5592f3e71","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-24a.110","next":"us-ky/krs-24a.130"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
