{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-250.051","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 250.051","heading":"Permits for labeling -- Fees -- Registration.","body":"(1) The following shall apply with regard to permits for labeling:\n(a) Each person who labels agricultural seed in accordance with KRS 250.041\nshall obtain a labeling permit from the director and pay a semiannual\ninspection fee unless labels attached to the se ed containers were issued by the\nKentucky Seed Improvement Association, or purchased from the director;\n(b) Each person who labels vegetable seed, flower seed, or combination mulch,\nseed, and fertilizer product shall obtain a labeling permit from the director;\n(c) Permit holders shall be assessed a yearly fee of twenty -five dollars ($25)\nbased on a calendar year or fraction thereof. The procedure for obtaining a\npermit, the responsibilities of the permit holders, method to be used in\ndetermining inspection fees, and the procedure for payment of inspection fees\nby permit holders distributing agricultural seed shall be established by\nadministrative regulations promulgated by the director. Permits may be\nrevoked if the director determines that the permit holder is not complying with\nthe provisions of KRS 250.021 to 250.111; and\n(d) Labels for agricultural seed may be purchased from the director at a price\nestablished by administrative regulation promulgated by the director.\n(2) Each person who distributes agricu ltural seed in containers of forty (40) pounds or\nmore at retail in Kentucky and each person, other than a certified seed conditioner,\nwho conditions agricultural seed for distribution in Kentucky shall register with the\ndirector.\n(3) Certified seed grower s and certified seed conditioners shall be registered with the\ndirector by the Kentucky Seed Improvement Association at no additional fee as a\npart of the certification process.\n(4) The yearly registration fee for retail agricultural seed dealers and for n oncertified\ncustom seed conditioners shall be twenty -five dollars ($25). If a person is required\nto both register and obtain a permit, the permit fee shall apply, and if a person is\nrequired to register both as a retail agricultural seed dealer and noncert ified custom\nseed conditioner, only one (1) registration fee shall be paid.","path":["KRS Chapter 250"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45021","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:02Z","sha256":"b0e9bfe924640ed121c7fc4874530eb1c9d0ecc137f72fd165fd61ffa584d666","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-250.050","next":"us-ky/krs-250.060"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
