{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-250.521","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 250.521","heading":"Labeling required -- Content of label -- Commercial feed -- Customer-","body":"formula feed.\n(1) A commercial feed, except a customer -formula feed, shall be accompanied by a\nlabel bearing the following information:\n(a) The product name and the brand name, if an y, under which the commercial\nfeed is distributed;\n(b) The guaranteed analysis stated in terms the director by administrative\nregulation determines are required to advise the user of the composition of the\nfeed or to support claims made in the labeling. In  all cases the substances or\nelements shall be determinable by laboratory methods such as the methods\npublished by the AOAC International;\n(c) The common or usual name of each ingredient used in the manufacture of the\ncommercial feed, unless the director b y administrative regulation permits the\nuse of a collective term for a group of ingredients which perform a similar\nfunction. The director may exempt such commercial feeds, or any group\nthereof, from this requirement of an ingredient statement if he finds that the\nstatement is not required in the interest of consumers;\n(d) The name and principal mailing address of the manufacturer or the person\nresponsible for distributing the commercial feed;\n(e) Adequate directions for use for all commercial feeds contain ing drugs and for\nother feeds as the director may require by administrative regulation as\nnecessary for their safe and effective use;\n(f) Warning or caution statements the director by administrative regulation\ndetermines are necessary for the safe and effective use of the commercial feed;\nand\n(g) A quantity statement of net content stated in accordance with the Federal Fair\nPackaging and Labeling Act, 15 U.S.C. secs. 1451 et seq., and stipulated by\nadministrative regulation.\n(2) A customer-formula feed shall be accompanied by a label, invoice, delivery slip, or\nother shipping document, bearing the following information:\n(a) Name and address of the manufacturer;\n(b) Name and address of the purchaser;\n(c) Date of delivery;\n(d) The product name and brand name, if any, and the net weight of each\nregistered commercial feed used in the mixture, and the net weight of each\nother ingredient used;\n(e) Adequate directions for use for all customer -formula feeds containing drugs\nand for other feeds as the director may req uire by administrative regulation as\nnecessary for their safe and effective use; and\n(f) Warning or caution statements the director by administrative regulation\ndetermines are necessary for the safe and effective use of the customer -\nformula feed.","path":["KRS Chapter 250"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=12171","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:03Z","sha256":"102f99d486cb0c66fe85620c2b137ff7ef1313b53b757c3fc8ceb1c74393183a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-250.520","next":"us-ky/krs-250.530"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
