{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-250.591","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 250.591","heading":"\"Withdrawal from distribution\" orders -- Condemnation and confiscation.","body":"(1) When the director has reasonable cause to believe any lot of commercial feed is\nbeing distributed in violation of any of the provisions of KRS 250.491 to 250.631 or\nof any of the prescribed administrative regulations under KRS 250.491 to 250.631,\nhe may issue and enforce a written or printed \"withdrawal from distribution\" order,\nwarning the distributor not to dispose of the lot of commercial feed in any manner\nuntil written permission is given by the director or the court. The director shall\nrelease the lo t of commercial feed so withdrawn when the statutes and\nadministrative regulations have been complied with. If compliance is not obtained\nwithin thirty (30) days, the director may begin, or upon request of the distributor or\nregistrant shall begin, proceedings for condemnation.\n(2) Any lot of commercial feed not in compliance with statutes and administrative\nregulations shall be subject to seizure on complaint of the director to a court of\ncompetent jurisdiction in the area in which the feed is located. In the event the court\nfinds the commercial feed to be in violation of KRS 250.491 to 250.631 and orders\nits condemnation, the feed shall be disposed of in any manner consistent with its\nquality and the laws of the state. However, in no instance shall the disposition of the\nfeed be ordered by the court without first giving the owner an opportunity to apply\nto the court for release of the feed or for permission to process or relabel the feed to\nbring it into compliance with KRS 250.491 to 250.631.","path":["KRS Chapter 250"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=12185","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:04Z","sha256":"54428c690a1c18a4f5db3378e9fd2d0e2dfa9039e7dfeca46621588ca160da6d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-250.590","next":"us-ky/krs-250.600"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
