{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-252.190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 252.190","heading":"Rules and regulations for control of bee diseases -- Destruction of infected","body":"bees, hives, etc. -- Reporting and publication of information -- Registration fees\n-- Failure to comply a violation of statutes.\n(1) The Commissioner may make and enforce suc h rules and orders as in his judgment\nmay be necessary to control, eradicate or prevent the introduction, spread or\ndissemination of any and all bee diseases. In the control or eradication of dangerous\nbee diseases the Commissioner may destroy by burning o r otherwise any infected\nbees, hives, honey or appliances that he may deem necessary for such control or\neradication, without remuneration to the owner. Such infected bees, hives, honey\nand appliances shall be deemed a public nuisance.\n(2) The Commissioner  may publish information concerning the inspection of bees or\nbee diseases as he deems necessary to the carrying out of KRS 252.180 to 252.240.\n(3) The Commissioner may order persons owning or possessing bees to report\ninformation the Commissioner deems ne cessary for the discharge of his duties\nunder the provisions of KRS 252.180 to 252.240.\n(4) The Commissioner shall promulgate administrative regulations concerning how\nmoneys are received and dispensed in the Kentucky beekeeping fund established in\nKRS 252.185.\n(5) The Commissioner may establish a schedule of registration fees to be used for\ncarrying out the provisions of KRS 252.180 to 252.240.\n(6) Any person failing to comply with the rules and orders of the Commissioner shall\nbe guilty of a violation of KRS 252.180 to 252.240.","path":["KRS Chapter 252"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=12298","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:05Z","sha256":"8b9e4392cf63c9f1b9b7e20e93d7bc4ba3c1827ff09f73ff595fc5ec97919f68","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-252.185","next":"us-ky/krs-252.200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
