{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-258.043","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 258.043","heading":"Mass rabies immunization clinics.","body":"(1) A local health department may sponsor mass rabies immunization clinics and shall\ncontract with local veterinarians to administer the rabies vaccine. If the services of\nveterinarians are not available in the area, the local health department may contract\nwith other veterinarians. The cabinet shall promulgate administrative regulations to\nestablish a reasonable fee, not to exceed administrative costs of the program, to be\ncharged to the owner of each dog, cat, or ferret to help defray the cost of the clinic.\n(2) No owner shall be required to have his dog, cat, or ferret vaccinated at a public\nclinic if he elects to have his dog, cat, or ferret vaccinated privately by a veterinarian\nof his choice.\n(3) No owner shall be required to have his dog vaccinated at a p ublic clinic if he is a\nqualified person and elects to vaccinate his dog himself.","path":["KRS Chapter 258"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48453","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:07Z","sha256":"39f844dec4fba25f08049ca4a748e75e7c454563b37d10cd16e635c218984d66","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-258.040","next":"us-ky/krs-258.045"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
