{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-260.640","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 260.640","heading":"Employment of inspectors -- Authority of inspectors -- Access by the","body":"department -- Licensees to keep records.\n(1) The Commissioner may employ inspectors for the purpose of enforcing the\nprovisions of the egg marketing law. These inspectors may examine  any eggs\noffered or exposed for sale for human consumption at the times and places and in a\nmanner as the Commissioner may direct.\n(2) The department shall have free access, at all reasonable hours when the business is\nopen to the general public, to any e stablishment, premises, or building where eggs\nare processed, stored, or offered for sale, and to any vehicle used to transport or\nhold eggs, for the purpose of inspecting the establishment, premises, building, or\nvehicle or the eggs to determine complianc e with the provisions of the Kentucky\negg marketing law.\n(3) The department shall have free access at all reasonable hours when the business is\nopen to the general public, to any restaurant kitchen, hotel kitchen, or kitchen of any\nother public eating plac e, including schools, hospitals, nursing homes, or other\nsimilar institutions, to determine compliance with the provisions of the Kentucky\negg marketing law. If the inspector determines that inspected eggs fail to comply\nwith the Kentucky egg marketing law  or standards as established by USDA, the\ninspector shall take the necessary action and issue an advisory on proper procedures.\n(4) All licensees shall keep a record of all eggs handled during the license year, and any\nother records the department shall re quire. These records shall be available for\nexamination by authorized agents of the department.\n(5) An inspector may, for the purpose of enforcing the Kentucky egg marketing law,\nbreak any form of sealing on any case or retail container.
