{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-260.840","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 260.840","heading":"Kentucky Milk Handlers Advisory Board.","body":"(1) The Kentucky Milk Handlers Advisory Board shall consist of:\n(a) The coordinator of the dairy section of the Animal Science Department at the\nUniversity of Kentucky, College of Agriculture;\n(b) The chair of the dairy committee of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation;\n(c) The branch manager of the Milk Safety Branch of the Cabinet for Health and\nFamily Services;\n(d) Three (3) permitted producers or permitted producer representatives;\n(e) Two (2) processors or processor representatives;\n(f) One (1) sampler-weigher or sampler-weigher representative; and\n(g) One (1) tester or tester representative.\nThe coordinator of the dairy section of the Animal Science Department at the\nUniversity of Kentucky, College of Agriculture shall act as chair of the board.\n(2) The di rector, or his designated representative, shall be an ex officio member and\nsecretary to the board.\n(3) (a) Each permitted producer shall be appointed by the director from a list of two\n(2) persons nominated by the dairy committee of the Kentucky Farm Bure au\nFederation. If a permitted producer becomes chair of the dairy committee of\nthe Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation during his or her term, the dairy\ncommittee shall appoint an alternate to serve the remainder of the term of the\npermitted producer.\n(b) Each processor shall be appointed by the director from a list of two (2)\npersons nominated by the executive committee of the Dairy Products\nAssociation of Kentucky. If a processor becomes president of the Dairy\nProducts Association of Kentucky during his or he r term, the executive\ncommittee shall appoint an alternate to serve the remainder of the term of the\nprocessor.\n(c) The sampler -weigher and tester shall be at -large appointees and shall be\nappointed by the director.\n(4) Appointments to the board shall be for a term of three (3) years, or until their\nsuccessors are appointed, except that the terms of office of the members first\nappointed shall be as follows: two (2) members shall be appointed for one (1) year,\ntwo (2) members shall be appointed for two (2) years, and three (3) members shall\nbe appointed for three (3) years. The respective terms of the first members shall be\ndesignated by the director at the time of their appointment. No appointed board\nmember shall serve more than two (2) consecutive terms.\n(5) Board members not already employed by the state shall be compensated at the rate\nof one hundred dollars ($100) per day for board service and be reimbursed for any\nactual expense incurred while performing board duties.","path":["KRS Chapter 260"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=12656","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:10Z","sha256":"a2eb9d751b94137c04c910b231f8bb74990b58bbcd112f9f8f089f12cc5a751b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-260.835","next":"us-ky/krs-260.842"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
