{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-262.350","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 262.350","heading":"Land-use regulations, what they may include.","body":"(1) Whenever the board determines that uncontrolled soil erosion on some lands within\nthe district is causing damage to other lands within the district, it may propose\nregulations governing the use of lands within the district in the interest of\nconserving soil and soil resources and preventing and controlling soil erosion. The\nboard may conduct such public meetings and public hearings upon tentative\nregulations as may be necessary to assist it in this work.\n(2) Land-use regulations may include:\n(a) Requirements for the carrying out of necessary engineering operations,\nincluding the construction of terraces, terrace outlets, check dams, dikes,\nponds, ditches and other necessary structures;\n(b) Requirements for the observance of particular methods of cultivati on,\nincluding contour cultivating, contour furrowing, lister furrowing, sowing,\nplanting, strip cropping, seeding and planting of lands to water-conserving and\nerosion-preventing plants, trees and grasses, forestation and reforestation;\n(c) Specifications of cropping programs and tillage practices to be observed;\n(d) Requirements for the retirement from cultivation of highly erosive areas or of\nareas on which erosion may not be adequately controlled if cultivation is\ncarried on; and\n(e) Provisions for su ch other measures and programs as may assist conservation\nof soil resources and prevent or control soil erosion in the district, with regard\nto KRS 262.020.","path":["KRS Chapter 262"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=12744","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:11Z","sha256":"1c10d0fe8a4889f241a7559ed66cfa06ab368944c079a5ea7978662fda6def3e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-262.340","next":"us-ky/krs-262.360"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
