Upon completion of the work pursuant to the\norder of the court the board may file a petition with the court, a copy of which sh all be\nserved upon the defendant in the case, stating the costs and expenses sustained by the\nboard in the performance of the work and praying judgment for such costs and expenses,\nwith interest.
