{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-262.510","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 262.510","heading":"Board of adjustment may authorize variance.","body":"If, upon the facts presented at the hearing, under KRS 262.500, the board of adjustment\ndetermines that there are great practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship in the way of\napplying the strict letter of any of the land -use regulations upon the land s of the\npetitioner, it shall make and record that determination and make and record findings of\nfact as to the specific conditions which establish those great practical difficulties or\nunnecessary hardship. Upon the basis of such findings and determinatio n, the board of\nadjustment may authorize such variance from the terms of the land -use regulations, in\ntheir application to the lands of the petitioner, as will relieve the great practical\ndifficulties or unnecessary hardship and will not be contrary to the  public interest.
