{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-262.745","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 262.745","heading":"Powers of board of directors.","body":"Subject to the approval of the board of supervisors, the board of directors of a watershed\nconservancy district shall have power to:\n(1) Levy an annual tax on the real property within the district within the limitations\nprovided in KRS 262.760 for administ ration, construction, operation and\nmaintenance of works of improvement within the district.\n(2) Acquire by purchase, gift, grant, bequest, devise, or through condemnation\nproceedings in the manner provided in the Eminent Domain Act of Kentucky, the\nfee simple title or any lesser interest in land including easements and flowage rights\nas are necessary for the exercise of any authorized function of the district, and for\nsuch purpose, may cause examinations and surveys to be made of any lands,\neasements or ri ghts-of-way necessary for the performance of any authorized\nfunction of the district.\n(3) Construct, improve, operate and maintain such structures as may be necessary for\nthe performance of any function authorized by KRS 262.700 to 262.795.\n(4) Borrow such money as is necessary for the purpose of acquiring lands or rights -of-\nway and establishing, constructing, reconstructing, repairing, enlarging and\nmaintaining such structures and improvements as are required by the district in the\nperformance of its funct ions, and issue, negotiate and sell its bonds as provided in\nKRS 262.750.","path":["KRS Chapter 262"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=12792","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:11Z","sha256":"a5333a5d7439deed2b42fbdbd7c7cdb7c25fe5723967ecc816c649571eb104be","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-262.742","next":"us-ky/krs-262.748"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
