{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-268.260","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 268.260","heading":"Plan for reclamation -- Board appoints appraisers -- Duties -- Oath --","body":"Election of chairman.\n(1) The report of the chief engineer shall be known as the \"plan for reclamation.\" When\nit is filed, the board shall meet and receive and adopt it, with any m odifications\ndetermined upon. After the plan has been adopted, the board shall refer the\nproceeding to a board of appraisers, to then be appointed by the board of drainage\ncommissioners, consisting of three (3) resident freeholders of any county in which\nthe district is located who are in no way interested in the proceedings and not of kin\nwithin the second degree of consanguinity to any person owning land in the\nproposed district. They shall appraise the property, assessing benefits and damages\nbased on the doing of the work as described and set forth in the plan for reclamation\napproved by the board. The secretary of the board shall transmit to the appraisers a\ncertified copy of the plan for reclamation which has been approved by the board.\n(2) Each appraiser, at a meeting to be held as soon as possible thereafter, shall take and\nsubscribe to an oath that he will faithfully and impartially discharge his duties and\nmake a true report of the work done by him.
